# PULGUKSA TEMPLE #
* History of Pulguksa Temple The construction of Pulguksa temple was started by Prime Minister Kim Tae-song in 751 during the reign of King Kyongdok and completed in 774 during the reign of King Hyegong of the Shilla Kingdom. More than 80 buildings of the temple were burnt down by the Japanese invaders in 1593. Some of the buildings including the main temple of Taeungjon were later reconstructed. From 1969 to 1973, the original building sites were excavated to confirm the scale of the buildings and other burnt-down buildings were subsequently reconstructed * Cultural Treasures of Pulguksa Temple Pulguksa contains six national-treasures and many other treasures including Sakyamuni Pagoda (National Treasure No. 21), Tabo (Prabhutaratna) Pagoda(National Treasure No. 20), Ch'on-gun-gyo and Paegun-gyo (National Treasure No. 23), Yonhwa-gyo and Ch'ilbo-gyo (National Treasure No. 22), seated gilt-bronze Vairocana (National Treasure No. 26), and seated gilt-bronze Amitabha(National Treasure No. 27).
